I’m inspired by a couple of discussions I’ve had recently. In an age where artificial intelligence reigns supreme and our data is stored “who knows where” in the cloud, there is a growing paradox: the fascination with computers of the past. We have talked about the nostalgia effect ad nauseam, but personally I don’t think that’s all there is to it. That would be reductive. So I asked myself a couple of questions and tried to answer them…

Fifty issues is a lot… It seems like yesterday that, on a rainy weekend in October, I was alone in my little apartment in Amsterdam writing the first issue of RetroMagazine. It started as a bit of fun, but it was fueled by a great passion and the love I immediately received from so many people who quickly became friends. I said it seems like yesterday, but eight years have already passed!

It’s just after 11:30 p.m. Tomorrow I have to wake up early for a work commitment that has been scheduled for some time. I’m already in bed, but after a stressful day spent in front of the computer, sleep is slow in coming. In fact, it just doesn’t want to come at all. In the dim light of a lamp, the room seems to take on a dark amber color. With an almost automatic gesture, I reach for my tablet on the bedside table and open the app that accesses my home NAS, part of which is dedicated to the nostalgic world of retrocomputing…

Dal 1985 ad oggi sappiamo tutto di Super Mario Bros, primo capitolo della saga “Super” del noto idraulico italo-nipponico di Nintendo.
Abbiamo visto l’eroe baffuto correre in coloratissimi mondi per recuperare monete e salvare la principessa Peach dalle grinfie di Bowser, acerrimo nemico di tutta la saga.
Mancava di vedere questa versione per Game Boy Color, realizzata da Mico27 con il GBStudio.
